TCN, NERC, Leadership Summons Over Incessant Grid Collapse -Power Minister Adelabu

Due to recent outages and disruptions in the electrical system, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, has called an urgent meeting of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) leadership.

Up to eight distinct instances of grid disruptions have occurred this year alone, plunging the nation into darkness.

However, in a statement released on Tuesday, the minister’s spokesperson, Bolaji Tunji, emphasized that the minister was unhappy with the incidents, which he claimed could undermine the progress made over the past year.

The minister claims that the enhancement has resulted in a record generation and distribution of 5,527 megawatts in just three years.
