Tinubu Intervenes: Ibas Appointed Rivers State Sole Administrator

President Bola Tinubu has Inaugurated Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas (Rtd) as Administrator of Rivers state.
In a move aimed at quelling the escalating political crisis in Rivers State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as the state’s Sole Administrator. This decisive action, which includes the declaration of a state of emergency, follows months of intense political friction that threatened to destabilize the region.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Presidential Villa, marked the official commencement of Ibas’s tenure. President Tinubu’s decision to suspend the elected governor, deputy governor, and state assembly members underscores the gravity of the situation. The stated objective is to restore law and order, ensuring the safety and security of Rivers State residents.
