National Assembly Resumes Today Plenary Amid Key Legislative Agendas

 

The National Assembly (NASS) resumes plenary today after a short recess, with lawmakers expected to tackle critical national issues, including constitutional amendments, economic reforms, and security matters.

The Senate and House of Representatives are set to deliberate on several pending bills and motions, including:

The 2024 Supplementary Budget – Expected to address urgent economic and security needs.
Constitutional Review – Amendments to key sections of the 1999 Constitution.
Security Debates — Discussions on rising insecurity in parts of the country.
Electricity Tariff and Subsidy Issues  – Possible resolutions on recent hikes.
