CAC Blames Stamp Duty Payment Failure On Portal Incompatibility

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has acknowledged the difficulties its customers are facing with stamp duty payments on its portal and has provided an update on the situation.
In a recent statement, the CAC explained that the payment issues are a result of a technical incompatibility between its newly upgraded and more advanced portal and the systems of its partner agencies responsible for processing stamp duties.
The commission has assured users that engineers from all agencies involved are working urgently to resolve the technical misalignment, and a permanent solution is “almost in place.” The CAC stated that this challenge is a temporary setback as part of its broader digital transformation to improve efficiency and user experience.
The CAC also announced that it is finalizing a new, simplified, and AI-driven post-incorporation filing system for business names. The first feature to be rolled out under this new system will be the filing of annual returns, which the commission hopes will be live by the weekend.
The CAC has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and has asked for the patience and support of its customers as it works to serve them better.
