The Nigerian Army has refuted media allegations stating that there is a leadership vacuum following the absence of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
It also issued a warning to individuals asking for a military coup, defining it as a treasonable violation under the law.
The Nigerian Army made the clarification in a statement signed by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, on Monday, after the release of a viral video in which some people were agitating for a military takeover.
Additionally it confirmed that as today, no interim Chief of Army Staff (COAS) had been appointed to replace the Chief of Army Staff
